It seems from this as if the epjitsu backend scansnwp in testing for the s, so you might want to check in on bios you can help with the testing? Really wish I could use them together reliably but it looks like we’d need some good driver support to get the features I need which are blank page removal and page rotation?

Fujitsu ScanSnap in Linux
I tried the the SM firmware file from the MAC driver, but I couldn’t get it working so I recommend just using the S firmware file even if you have an SM it seems to be compatible. The S uses the sane-epjitsu backend, while the other ScanSnaps use sane-fujitsu. The updated backend doesn’t seem to be available in the trusted software sources. Brooks Duncan – June 2, Reply.
